Spectrum of Autism Disorder Management Services

Our Residences

Kids Care offers support and care in specialized homes to 8–18-year-olds who have been diagnosed with autism and are undergoing evaluation. We recognize that although young people with autism might experience the world in amazing ways, it can also be frightening at times. Our first goal is to help the youngster feel understood, welcomed, safe, and free from judgment.

By fostering healthy relationships and placing a strong emphasis on life-enriching experiences and activities, we are able to alter the lives of young people through our unique approach, expertise, and abilities. We also develop techniques to help them manage a variety of situations.

Our houses' layout helps kids learn the social skills needed to live with their peers and provides a high degree of consistency to meet the needs of young people with autism and any related challenges they may encounter.

Our Method

Rather than seeing autism as a personal shortcoming or handicap, we consider how society constructs obstacles and works to remove them so that young people with autism have an equal opportunity to live happy, full lives. We want to comprehend the unique requirements of every young person and refrain from concluding "social norms."

Experience Compassion, Experience Progress!

Due to cognitive differences in how they receive information from the outside world, young persons with autism will engage with their surroundings differently. To completely grasp how the young person can interact in various settings, we therefore take into account their background, history, upbringing, notable events, medical history, and placement moves. We are aware that individuals with autism simply want the same possibilities and chances as any other young person, delivered in a way that makes sense to them. They do not want to be treated any differently.

When an autistic person's needs aren't fully met or when we try to alter who they are to conform to society's unspoken norms and systems, things can go wrong for them. We feel that rather than attempting to "fix" autistic youth, it is more important to listen to their basic needs and learn how to communicate them in a way that is more acceptable in society, all the while letting the young person make decisions that they find comfortable. Young people acquire momentum in other aspects of their lives when these unmet needs are regularly attended to, as the obstacles that previously hindered them start to fall away.

"Being autistic is neither a personal trait nor a shell that a person lives inside. There isn't a typical child hiding behind autism. Autism is a state of existence. It is all-encompassing; it permeates every element of life and colors every experience, sensation, perception, thought, emotion, and interaction. The person you would have left would not be the same person you started with since it is impossible to remove autism from the individual.

Our Residences

Our ASD homes have been adapted to fulfill the needs of each person and to help youth reach their full potential. In collaboration with several autism consultants, the homes have been altered to aid in the planning process. This includes examining the building's lighting, acoustics, layout, fixtures, fittings, colors, resources, and sensory requirements. Some examples of the changes include the homes' adjustable lighting, which gives young people the freedom to choose the amount of light that best suits their sensory needs, and the bathrooms' hydro power, which supports and gives the kids the freedom to control how much sensory stimulation they receive.

Education

Children living in our ASD homes attend the on-site educational facilities, which offer a customized curriculum tailored to each student's needs based on their interests and academic aptitude. The staff members working in the homes recognize the value of each child's educational plan and help them acquire transferable abilities that they can apply in many aspects of their daily lives. Our certified educators and teaching assistants collaborate closely with home staff to meet the needs of the students and produce excellent results. They have the knowledge and abilities to impart knowledge to young people with autism.

Interventions Therapeutic

Our Specialist Therapeutic Service provides help to our ASD homes. Every house has a senior psychologist who works exclusively in that house. This enables them to function as a cohesive team, working holistically with the care and education professionals. This improves understanding of the underlying causes of the behaviors and provides psychologically sound practices to support each child.
